A Scholarship Fund Established at William Paterson
University
Please join us on April 12 to learn more about this great
initiative.
The American Arab Forum endorses the efforts to establish The
Arab American Scholarship at
William Paterson
University, Wayne , NJ, USA. The program will provide
support for undergraduate students with financial need and
encourage these students to become leaders their disciplines and
contribute to their community.
This ambitious scholarship is a first for New Jersey.
President Aref Assaf of American Arab Forum is one of five
community leaders who are organizing this initiative. Over the
course of three years, the Fund hopes to raise $1 million.
Long term plans call for the creation of a Chair in Arabic
Studies at the University. So far over $200,000 have been
committed and in fact the University has already granted four
scholarships to deserving students attending the Fall 2011
Semester.
The generosity of our community, their deep love for
education and knowledge are seamlessly matched by the enthusiasm
and limitless support we have received from the University
administration. University President, Kathleen Waldron has been
instrumental in facilitating the fulfillment of this much
desired dream.
I am reaching to all our friends to invite you to join us on
April 12 to a special fundraising dinner where the University
President will keynote the event. Your attendance is
important to me but more so as an indication of our support of our
future leaders. Your attendance is more important to the
University to gauge our collective endorsement and support both
moral and financial of this project. Your donation in cash or
long term pledges is the best inheritance you and I will leave
for our children.
Please RSVP to Alice Walsh at 973-720-2615 or email her
directly at
