American Arab Forum strongly condemns the terrorist bomb attack in Jordan
Paterson, NJ: 11/09/2005: The American Arab Forum, AAF, strongly condemns and
denounces the terrorist bomb attacks on three hotels in Amman, the Jordanian
capital. We also wish to offer our sincere condolences and regrets to the
families of the dead and injured civilians. Close to one hundred people are
presumed dead or injured. AAF believes that attacks on civilians by anyone or
for any reason can never be justified and such abhorrent attacks contradict the
ethos of all the world religions and international law. It is our hope that the
perpetrators are soon apprehend and brought before a court of law.
Aref Assaf, president of American Arab Forum, expressed his "great sense of
outrage at the criminals who target civilians to promote their extremist and
utterly baseless agenda. Mr. Assaf's classmate of many years, Major General Basheer
Nafie, was one of the victims. Mr. Nafie was head of the Palestinian
Intelligence Department in the West Bank. No one is exempt from the wrath of extremism as we have so
vividly witnessed in the cowardly attacks in Jordan and before that in London , Saudi Arabia and
Egypt.'"
AAF calls on the United States government to speedily offer its hand in
support of Jordan's pursuit of those who committed the heinous attacks. We
further call on the entire world community to collectively speak up against
terrorism and for settling conflicts peacefully and through negotiations.
